Can I lower my blood pressure with natural pharmaceuticals? PDF Print E-mail
Yes, Natural products like Bonito Peptides, stevia, vitamin c, lacotobacillus helveticus,  Folic Acid, etc. have been shown to lower blood pressure levels.

Diet, exercise and smoking cessation are important parts of maintaining proper Cholesterol and blood pressure levels.  However, even if you have a perfect diet, exercise three or four times a week and don’t smoke, hereditary factors may cause you to have elevated cholesterol and blood pressure levels.  A recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Association concluded, non-smokers, 30% above their ideal weight, with normal blood pressure and cholesterol levels have no increased risk from heart disease and stroke.  These results are very promising.

Elevated blood pressure is a serious medical problem leading to an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.  Recent scientific studies have shown that over 50% of Americans over 40 have either elevated blood pressure or elevated cholesterol levels.  Scientific literature shows that using pharmaceuticals, i.e. Beta Blockers, ACE Inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, diuretics, etc. can lower blood pressure.  However, these medications have side effects which make compliance difficult.  Some of the side effects are dry mouth, headache, dizziness, vomiting, fatigue, depression, GI upset, diarrhea, slow pulse, sexual dysfunction to name just a few.

Lactobacillus helveticus

In the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.  2005; 24(4):257-65, Dr. K. Aihara, et al., studied...

“Effect of powdered fermented milk with Lactobacillus helveticus on subjects with high-normal blood pressure or mild Hypertension.”

CONCLUSION: Daily ingestion of the tablets containing powdered fermented milk with L. helveticus CM4 in subjects with high-normal blood pressure or mild hypertension reduces elevated blood pressure without any adverse effects.

Folic Acid

In the Journal of the American Medical Association,  2005;293:320-329, Dr. John P. Forman, et al., studied...

"Folate Intake and the Risk of Incident Hypertension Among US Women"

CONCLUSION: Higher total folate intake was associated with a decreased risk of incident hypertension, particularly in younger women. [Dr. Eisenstein believes that these findings also apply to men].

Bonito Peptides

In the journal Comp Biochem Physiol C. 1993 Feb;104(2):351-3, H. Karaki et al studied and found that...

“Oral administration of Peptides derived from Bonito bowels decreases blood pressure in spontaneously hypertensive rats by inhibiting angiotensin converting Enzyme.” [Dr. Eisenstein has found in his practice, Homefirst®, that these findings also apply to his patients.]

Stevia

In the journal Clinical Therapeutics, 2003; 25(11):2797-808, MH Hsieh, et al., studied...

“Efficacy and tolerability of oral stevioside in patients with mild essential hypertension: a two-year, randomized, placebo-controlled study.”

CONCLUSION: In this 2-year study in Chinese patients with mild hypertension, oral stevioside significantly decreased SBP [systolic blood pressure] and DBP [diastolic blood pressure] compared with placebo. QOL [quality of life] was improved, and no significant adverse effects were noted.

It is important to monitor the blood pressure to be sure that the natural pharmaceutical alternatives are exerting the proper blood pressure lowering effect.  Preliminary data has shown that over 70% of people can either reduce or terminate use of pharmaceutical medication by using these natural substitutes.  There have been no reported side effects from using Bonito peptides.

The Homefirst Blood pressure Support and Plus contain the above documented ingredients to lower blood pressure.
