In 1982 he received his masters at the Yale University Divinity School in Connecticut. His MD was attained from the University of Iowa in 1983. He did his residency at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee from 1984 to 1987. He joined Homefirst® in 1987 and became a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice in 1990.
"At Homefirst®, I have found the family practice aspects of medicine that I was looking for," Dr. Schattauer says. His goal in practicing medicine is to listen carefully to patients and help them come to realize that the power to regain and maintain health lies within themselves. He is very happy to interact with Homefirst® patients. "The patients give us an opportunity to develop what family doctors used to have; a trusting and mutually respectful relationship with patients. These are patients who are taking responsibility for their own health and well-being." |
