BettenAid Testimonials PDF Print E-mail
Dear Dr. Eisenstein,
My daughter, E..., and I had the honor of meeting you at your homebirth seminar a couple of weeks ago.
Your Chewable Digestive Enzymes with Probiotics product is AWESOME.  This past Saturday evening, my husband made a pasta dish with a sauce loaded with okra and green peppers.  Although delicious, I was doubled-over with stomach pain about one hour after eating.  I chewed one of your tablets and felt some relief in a few minutes.  After 15 minutes, my stomach pain completely vanished and I felt 100% better.
Pregnant women must know about your products!!
Many thanks for everything you do,

Dr. Schattauer,  (staff physican)

You've called a few times to ask how the Digestive Enzymes with

Probiotics are working for me.  Now that I've started a day job, it

is hard for me to return your call at a convenient time, so I thought

I'd write it up in an e-mail.

Before I started on the enzymes, my reflux had gotten so bad as to

warrant two tablets of Prilosec OTC per day--which is the same as a

prescription dose.  But then of course, in the last few months, the

issues of the PPI drugs blocking the stomach's ability to process

calcium has given me some motivation to try and get off of Prilosec

again.

I had tried before, and obviously was not successful.  I had been

taking digestive enzymes from another brand, combined with FOS, and

watching my diet.  Part of the reason I believe I failed at this

attempt was that I tried to go cold turkey and switch from Prilosec

to the enzymes.  Based on my experience, I believe that after years

of being on a drug like prilosec, you really have to ease off of it.

So this time, I'm taking it a bit slower.

For the past 6 weeks or so, I've been taking the Homefirst chewable

digestive enzymes.  And for the past 4 weeks, I've been down to 1

prilosec a day.  Starting on February 1st, I'm going to try to switch

to taking a prilosec every other day for a month.  We are also

checking out more books from the library on a reflux friendly diet.

Some thoughts on the enzymes --

I think that calling them chewables might encourage folks to chew

them, which for me, decreases their efficacy.  They'd be better

called lozenges.  The act of sucking on one after a meal causes me to

swallow quite a bit, and swallowing keeps the reflux down.  That's

just my theory--the truth could be that dissolving them in my mouth

makes them work better in my stomach.  What I do know is that they

are better than tums ever was at putting a small fire out.

Now, I expect some difficult situations when I transition to taking

prilosec every other day, and then maybe every third day (or maybe

never again).  For mild to medium attacks, I'm pretty confident that

the enzymes will take care of the problem.  For major attacks though,

I still will need some help, and that is where I'm planning on using

Tagamet as first aid--I hear it is better than prilosec.  But I don't

want to have to take drugs to treat this for the long term anymore.

I've probably rambled enough.  I hope to have better news for you at

the end of February, and again at the end of March.   Please check in

with me at the end of the next two months and I'll let you know how

it is going.

Peace,

M

Dear Dr. Eisenstein:

Over six and a half years ago I was diagnosed with GERD as well as a hiatial hernia. My primary care physician prescribed Prevacid to be taken on a daily basis.  Since that time I have tried unsuccessfully on numerous occasions to wean myself from Prevacid, preferring a more Natural approach to healthcare.  Unfortunately, none of these approaches helped, even in the short run.

As CEO of an integrative medicine healthcare company, I am approached all the time to endorse various products, which I have never done.  I would like to share with you my wonderful experience in using your new chewable digestive enzymes with probiotics product.  It has now been a full month since I have STOPPED taking Prevacid. I am not having any problems with my GERD or hiatal hernia.  Although I still have the acid symptoms, they are immediately resolved by taking your product.  I certainly feel that everyone with acid reflux or similar disorders needs to avail themselves of your digestive enzymes with probiotics product.

Natural is always preferable to pharmaceutical.  Thank you for bringing me the natural relief I have been searching for so desperately for so many years.

Yours in health,

Dear Dr. Mayer,

Thank you so much for developing a natural product to support digestion and help me with my acid reflux. My acid reflux was in such an advanced state that I would wake up with pain in my throat and ears. Food that I ate didn't digest properly and I was eliminating it almost as quickly as I took it in. I was losing my appetite and some weight as well.

When I began taking Betten-Aid five weeks ago I doubled up on the intake; two at each meal and 2 at bedtime. I felt no change for the first three and a half weeks. Into the fourth week, I noticed a change in my stools. They were more formed and solid. My throat and ears in the morning were not as sore as in the past.
Now into my fifth week I am hopeful that my acid reflux is on the mend and am most thankful to you, Mayer for developing a natural product that does not have a negative side effect like many prescription drugs.

Gratefully,

Leslie

Dear Dr. Eisenstein,
I want to thank you for the development of Betten-Aid.  I have had severe chronic GERD for most of my life. I have been on Pepcid, then Prilosec, then Prevacid, then back to Prilosec.  I have always had to supplement Tums or Rolaids with these products.  This has been on going for 20 years.
I had an endoscopy three years ago and had two small spots of esophigitis (sure I spelled that wrong) .  Since I started taking Betten-Aid I have had almost no heartburn and have been able to sleep all night flat on  my back.  What a relief.
Sleeping on 4 pillows was killing my back. I am completely off of Prilosec, I did this on my own-- my Dr. did not take me off.  I had a bone scan and have developed Osteopenia and a colonoscopy three years ago found a very small tubular adenoma.. It was benign and removed.
I feel the Prilosec is responsible for both conditions, which is why I chose to eliminate the Prilosec.  I had a horrible time following this.   I do take Pepcid Complete OTC once or twice a day  and around 8 Betten-Aid tablets throughout the day.  But I feel so much better and do not have heartburn problems.  My chronic diarrhea of 8 years is completely gone too.I just want to thank you and say God Bless You and your Staff.  You will be always be in my prayers.

My husband and I love Betten Aid. He used to be on prescription Prevacid and then our insurance wouldn't cover it, so the doctor switched him to Protonix which didn't work as well. I heard about Betten Aid on XM Radio and decided to try it and now he does not take anything prescription for acid!

Sincerely,

KM

Dear Dr. Eisenstein,

First I would like to thank you for the free samples, and express my gratitude for the relief I got from the Betten-Aid.  They were flavorful and well tolerated by my stomach.

I have not eaten and enjoyed a pizza for years and the 3 day consuming these pills I put them to the ULTIMATE test, I ordered and ate 4 slices of real oven baked pizza from my favorite Italian Pizzeria. I have lived in Miami for over 50 years and 8 years ago I was diagnosed with ulcers and was put on a restricted diet and given Tagamet, then Zantec and most resently Nexium. All of these seemed to wear out after time and the dose was increased, and after researching the side effects, I realized I was destroying my bones because these do not allow for calcium absorb ion. At the age of 52 I had bones of an 80 year old man, not what I wanted.

My Nephew who lives in Oregon and listens to a particular radio show heard about these natural enzymes and forwarded my the information, I guess the rest is now history.
